I am having issues in scheduling a simple stored procedure in Standby DB, so I am wondering can we use DBMS_SCHEDULER in Stand by at all or not.

Pls advise, if you need instructions on scheduling, I will send them to you if needed.

Thanks

if it is a physical standby, then the database is in READ-ONLY mode. It reads only the redo logs, etc

Now, if it's a logical standby, then I would bet YES.

For a physical standby database, the database is either in managed recovery state or open(read only) state.

Any changes in database metadata(data dictionary)/data is not allowed.

So using dbms_scheduler, means you are going to make some changes in standby database's data dictionary, which is not possible on the standby database.
