Hi all,

I am new to oracle and need to know the possibility of creating a standby database with Oracle 10g Standard Edition.

If it`s possible, does anyone got a how-to for this?

10g standard edtion, you do not have managed recovery and log transport. In other words you will not be able to use the alter database register logfile command after you ship the logs to the standby and then place it in managed recover to apply it. Instead you will have to issue sql>recover standby database; and then hit enter or auto and apply it. No different than what you did in 8i
