Hello!
I install Oracle 8i dataguard under Solaris8/oracle 8.1.7 (64bit) platform. I create a configuration file on primary site (as describe in intallation guide). This file is attached to a message. I create 3 configuration files on primary and standby sites, named init<SID>.ora - for production database, init<SID>_stby.ora - for standby database, init<SID>_stby2prod.ora - for transition mode (switchover or activate standby database). These files include information about offline redolog directories on primary and standby sites.

Then i run a script dgdeploy.sh and configuration was deployed between primary and standby sites.
To create new standby database i use command "instantiate".
Then i use command "start all" and both agents (on primary and stanby sites) start correctly.

But when i then run command "switchover" (dgdctl> switchover) i had such mistake:

1. When i use command (ps -ef | grep dgd) on primary site (host name = buware, i saw such processes:

2. When i use the same command (ps -ef | grep dgd) on standby site (host name = certify), i saw such processes:

orarnp 19414 1 0 13:02:35 ? 0:03 /usr/bin/ksh /oracle/RNP/817_64/dataguard/bin/dgdalpsr.sh RNP certify STANDBY /

orarnp 19397 1 0 13:02:35 ? 0:04 /usr/bin/ksh /oracle/RNP/817_64/dataguard/bin/dgdapplr.sh RNP RECOVERY certify

From this listing we saw, that production hostname as a same as stanby host name.

What mistake have i done?

Where the information about production database host saved in Oracle Dataguard, except configuration file (dgd_<DATAGUARD_ID>.ora)?

How can i return back my initial configuration?

Help me please.
With best regards,
Marina
